Durham Bulls Athletic Park is a Minor League Baseball ballpark located in Durham, North Carolina. Built in 1995, it has a seating capacity of 10,000 and is the home ballpark for the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays. The park was designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport), who also designed Turner Field for Atlanta Braves. The park features a brick façade with steel trusses and a wide concourse around the diamond, as well as an old-fashioned sound system that plays jazz music between innings. On the left field wall is a famous manual scoreboard which was featured in the movie Bull Durham. In addition to hosting baseball games, Durham Bulls Athletic Park has been used for concerts, festivals, bicycle races, and fundraising events such as 5K runs or walks.
It is also home to other local sports teams like Duke University's lacrosse team and North Carolina FC of USL League One. In 2023, the Bulls are taking the ballpark to a whole new level with further renovations including state-of-the-art office spaces, luxurious locker rooms, an enlarged team store, and a "History Hallway", which will feature tales of the franchise's storied past. The centerpiece of the renovation is a state-of-the-art indoor hitting space located behind the third baseline.
