What the end will be is a play about three generations of Black, gay men living in the same home. Living at the intersection of those two identities has shaped each man's life differently, and what it means to be Black and gay differs for them all. The playwright, Tarell Alvin McCraney, is best known for his work on the Oscar-winning film Moonlight. In Black and Gay, he brings his trademark honesty and humor to a story that is both personal and universal. Black and Gay will be directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Fences) and will star David Alan Grier (In Living Color, The Carmichael Show), Andre Holland (Moonlight, Selma) and Jeremy Pope (Choir Boy, Ain't Too Proud). The play is a co-production of Roundabout Theatre Company and True Colors Theatre Company. It will premiere at Roundabout's Off-Broadway theatre, the Laura Pels Theatre, in early 2019.
