Written by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, the show follows a dystopian future where a severe water shortage has made private toilets illegal. It tells the story of Bobby Strong, a young hero who leads the citizens of Urinetown in an uprising against the oppressive regime of corporate greed that has taken over their town.
