The King and I is a classic musical written by the legendary duo of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. It tells the story of an English schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, who travels to Siam (now Thailand) in the 1860s to teach the children of the King. It is based on Margaret Landon’s 1944 novel, Anna and the King of Siam.
