The Band's Visit is a stage musical with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses, based on the 2007 Israeli film of the same name. The show opened on Broadway in November 2017 and won ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The story follows a band of Egyptian musicians who, due to a mix-up, end up in an Israeli desert town instead of the Arab city they were supposed to perform in. Over the course of one fateful night, the band and the townspeople learn a great deal about one another and themselves.
The Band's Visit has won praise from the critics. Its off-Broadway production took home a number of prestigious honors, including the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical and the 2017 Obie Award for Musical Theatre.
