The Go-Go's collection of music and lyrics provides the soundtrack for Head Over Heels, a musical theater performance. After Jeff Whitty wrote the show's original book and conceived its plot, he left due to creative differences with director Michael Mayer. The 16th-century work The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia by Sir Philip Sidney originally inspired Head Over Heels' storyline before James Magruder made further changes.
