Bat Out of Hell: The Musical is a Rock n roll musical with music, lyrics, and a book by Jim Steinman, based on the Bat Out of Hell album by Meat Loaf for a Romeo and Juliet -inspired love story. Steinman wrote all of the songs, most of which are from the Bat Out of Hell trilogy of albums. The musical premiered at the Manchester Opera House in 2017 and subsequently played in London's West End. The musical is produced by David Sonenberg and Meat Loaf with strobe lighting effects, haze effects, and CO2 jet. The story follows Strat, the "Forever Young" leader of a rock band called "The Lost", who falls in love with Raven, daughter of Falco, the tyrannical ruler of Obsidian.
