Since its initial run, Aladdin has been performed around the world including in Australia, Japan, Germany, and Canada. It has also been translated into several languages including Spanish, German, and Japanese. In addition to its success on stage, it was adapted into a live-action feature film directed by Guy Ritchie which was released in 2019 starring Will Smith as Genie and Mena Massoud as Aladdin. In 2021, it was announced that Aladdin would return to Broadway for 8 performances only beginning in 2023 at New Amsterdam Theatre!
