Jaws are an English indie rock band, formed in Bournemouth in 1992. The band's line-up currently consists of brothers Andrew and James Newell, along with bassist Sam Jones. Jaws released their debut album, Be Slowly, they recorded and rehearsed in 2014; these included "Toucan Surf," "Milkshake," and "Think Too Much, Feel Too Little" in 2012. Their sophomore album, Simplicity, was released in 2016 and featured the lead single "Stay In". The band's third album, The Ceiling, is set to be released in 2019.
On albums like 2014's Be Slowly and 2016's Simplicity, the band offers atmospheric and ethereal reverb-heavy songs about self-identity, love, and introspection. Jaws have been praised for their catchy hooks and vibrant melodies, with critics comparing them to the likes of Foals and Bloc Party.
