Cheer is an American sport television docuseries that aired on Netflix starting last January 2020 about the Navarro College Bulldogs Cheerleaders as they prepare for and compete in the National Championship. As the series begins, the Cheer Team has won fourteen NCA National Championships in the junior college division. The team is best known for its extraordinary stunts, pyrotechnics, and acrobatics. They have won fourteen NCA National Championships and are currently the two-time defending champions. The team is coached by Monica Aldama, who has been with the team for twenty years. The series is produced by Greg Whiteley, who also directed the Netflix original documentary Last Chance U. In 2022 they had their live show which made the fans very happy and is such a hit.
In the CHEER Live tour 2022, the fourteen-time national champion, Monica Aldama and cheerleading stars such as Gabi Butler and Morgan Simianer performed in the show. Joining them are Maddy Brum, Angel Rice, James Thomas, Jeron Hazelwood, Gillian Rupert and Cassadee Dunlap. Anuhea Keene (Team USA) & Terrell Cabrall (Team USA) are present. Monica Aldama and Andy Cosferent, both highly successful athletic coaches in their own right, have teamed up with director Pam Chu (who has worked on Dancing With The Stars, New Kids On The Block, and RuPaul’s Drag Race) to create CHEER Live. Monica gained widespread recognition after starring in the Netflix Emmy Award-winning docuseries “Cheer” which illustrates her immense drive for constructing one of America's premier cheerleading programs from scratch.
