Jose Marie Borja Viceral, a Filipino actor, talk show host, television presenter, comedian, and entrepreneur who goes by the name "Vice Ganda." Viceral is currently one of the three main hosts of It's Showtime, a noontime variety show on ABS-CBN. Vice Ganda was born on March 31, 1976 in Tondo, Manila to an impoverished family. His mother, Rosario Viceral, was a domestic helper while his father, Antonio Viceral, was a construction worker. He is the youngest of four children, with three older sisters. When he was two years old, his parents separated and he was raised by his mother. Vice Ganda finished his elementary education at Punta, Sampaloc Manila and studied high school at Philippine Cultural College. He took up AB English Literature at Far Eastern University but was not able to continue his studies due to financial difficulties. Vice Ganda worked as a call center agent and a beauty consultant before he started his showbiz career. He first appeared on television in the early 2000s, appearing as a contestant on ABS-CBN's talent search Star Circle Quest. Although he did not win the competition, his natural comedic talent caught the attention of the show's producers and he was given a chance to host his own show, The Verge. The Verge was a short-lived but popular talk show that helped Vice Ganda gain a wider following. He also appeared in various comedy shows on ABS-CBN, including Banana Split and Home Along Da Riles. In 2009, Vice Ganda finally achieved mainstream success with his hit comedy film Petsa de Peligro. The movie was a huge box office hit, grossing over PHP 100 million. This was followed by a string of successful comedy films, including The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin (2011), This Guy's in Love with U Mare!
