Todd Barry is an American actor and stand-up comedian, predominantly known for his deadpan comedy. He has appeared in supporting roles in films such as Road Trip (2000), The Aristocrats (2005), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), and Ted 2 (2015). He also played the role of Mickey Rourke's assistant in The Wrestler (2008). Barry is a recurring guest on comedy podcasts, including Doug Loves Movies, WTF with Marc Maron, You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes, and Joe Rogan's Fight Companion. He also has his own podcast called The Todd Barry Podcast, where he interviews other comedians.
Barry was raised in Florida after being born in The Bronx, New York. He earned an English degree from the University of Florida in 1986. He played drums in the indie rock band The Chant from 1984 to 1985 before beginning stand-up comedy. His Comedy Central Presents program debuted in 1999. He co-starred with H. in the 2002 short film Borrowing Saffron, which he also wrote, directed, and acted in. Benjamin, Jon He has appeared as a guest on episodes like Tom Goes to the Mayor, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, Home Movies, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Wonder Showzen. On Squidbillies, he provides the voice of a recurring character. He made an appearance in the 2004 cartoon series Shorties Watchin' Shorties.
In the second season of the live-action Adult Swim series Delocated in 2010, Barry played a fictionalized version of himself who frequently hung out with the Russian mafia characters and played cards with them in their club. In FX's Louie, he played himself on a regular basis.
In 2012, Barry completed recording the CD Super Crazy for Comedy Central Records. He appeared in shorts in Jerry Seinfeld's web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee's Season 3, Episode 4 in 2014.
