Tina Fey is an American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and playwright. She has achieved worldwide success in all of these fields. She first rose to fame as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1997 to 2006. During her time on SNL, she won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and one for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Fey's career continued to skyrocket after leaving SNL with the creation of her sitcom 30 Rock which ran from 2006-2013 and earned her five Primetime Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008 she became the first female head writer at SNL since 1995 and created the critically acclaimed movie Mean Girls in 2004 which was nominated for numerous awards including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 2005 Golden Globe Awards. Her 2010 movie Date Night also received critical acclaim as it was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and one Academy Award nomination.
Fey has also written several books including Bossypants in 2011 which won her a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album! In 2013 she released her second book "Yes Please" which became a New York Times bestseller. Fey has also been involved in Broadway productions such as "Mean Girls: The Musical" which opened at August Wilson Theatre in 2018 and received twelve Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.
