Phoebe Robinson is an American comedian, writer, and actress who has been making waves in the entertainment industry since her breakout role in the hit comedy series 2 Dope Queens. Born in Maryland, she moved to New York City after graduating from Oberlin College with a degree in creative writing. Since then, she has gone on to become a New York Times best-selling author and one of the most sought-after comedians working today. Robinson is known for her witty and sharp observations on topics ranging from race and gender to pop culture. She has written two books - You Can't Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have To Explain and Everything's Trash But It's Okay - which have both received critical acclaim. Additionally, she has made numerous appearances on late-night talk shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Conan O'Brien. Her career continues to reach new heights as she recently collaborated with Ilana Glazer for their podcast So Many White Guys!
In addition to her writing and comedic work, Robinson also acts. She was featured in the Netflix original movie Ibiza alongside Gillian Jacobs and Vanessa Bayer. She can also be seen in HBO's Crashing (starring Pete Holmes) as well as the upcoming film What Men Want starring Taraji P Henson. Robinson is currently touring throughout the United States and Canada with her stand-up show "Sorry Harriet Tubman". In 2021, she performed at venues including Carnegie Hall in New York City, The Wilbur Theatre in Boston, The Vic Theatre in Chicago, and The Moore Theatre in Seattle. Robinson’s success story does not end here; she is set to make history by becoming the first African-American woman to host a late-night talk Phoebe Robinson show when her new series “The Phoebe Robinson Podcast Show” premieres on Comedy Central later this year. 2023 will see Robinson return to live performances with an all-new tour titled “Phoebe Robinson: The Future Is Female Tour” which will take place across Europe and North America.
