Nimesh Patel is an American comedian and television writer. He is known for his appearances on the sketch comedy series Human Giant and for his work on the MTV sitcom The Inbetweeners. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Patel began his career performing stand-up comedy at open mics and local clubs. After moving to Los Angeles, he landed his first writing gig on the ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine. He has since written for a number of other television shows, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The League, and Silicon Valley. Patel has also appeared in a number of films, including The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009) and Observe and Report (2009). He was performing stand-up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, in 2015 when Chris Rock stumbled upon him. He appeared on countless shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brian, Comedy Central's South Beach Comedy Festival, Crashing for HBO, and POTUS 2020 for Time Magazine. In terms of awards and achievements, Nimesh has received some major recognitions in the past few years alone such as the '2018 Breakout Performer' award at the 2nd Annual Indian Film Festival of Georgia (IFFOG) as well as being listed in Rolling Stone Best Comics Right Now. He was also nominated for a 2018 Writers Guild Award for best variety special writing alongside other prominent members of the comedy world. For his work on SNL, Patel was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2018 for Outstanding Writing. Patel has had numerous collaborations throughout his career including his 'New Brown American' tour with fellow comic Ali Siddiq, a world tour titled 'The Bad Uncle Tour' alongside Anjelah Johnson and David Dye, and his latest partnership with the USO, USO Nimesh Patel Tour for United Service Organizations. For this project, Nimesh Patel Stand-up Tour traveled to various military bases to perform stand-up shows for soldiers and their families. He has also participated in comedy and politics panels at Johns Hopkins University's Foreign Affairs Symposium. In addition to his work in front of and behind the camera, Patel is also a successful stand-up comedian.
