He is best known for creating, writing and executive producing the MTV2 comedy series Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'n Out, as well as The Jokers Wild. Kroll has also appeared in a number of films and television series including I Love You, Man, Date Night, Get Him to the Greek and American Dad! Kroll was born in Rye, New York on June 5, 1978 to Lynn and Jules Kroll. He is the youngest of three children. Kroll's mother is Jewish and his father is Christian. Kroll was raised in a Reform Jewish household and attended Hebrew school. He went to Rye Country Day School and then The Choate School (now Choate Rosemary Hall) for high school. In 1996, he graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor's degree in History. After graduation, Kroll worked as a consultant at a small management consulting firm. He then moved to Los Angeles where he worked as an assistant at a talent management company. In 2001, Kroll created and starred in the short-lived MTV sketch comedy series The Nick Cannon Show. The show was cancelled after two seasons. In 2003, Kroll co-wrote and executive produced The Graham Norton Effect for Comedy Central. The show ran for one season. In 2005, Kroll created, wrote and starred in the MTV sketch comedy series Human Giant. The show ran for two seasons and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. In 2008, Kroll starred in the comedy film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The film was a critical and commercial success. In 2010, Kroll co-starred in the comedy films Date Night and Get Him to the Greek. He also voiced the character of Rodney Ruxin on the FX comedy series The League. In 2012, Kroll starred in the comedy film The Five-Year Engagement. The film was a critical and commercial success. In 2013, Kroll starred in the comedy film We're the Millers. The film was a critical and commercial success. In 2014, Kroll starred in the comedy films Neighbors and The Interview.
