Mike Birbiglia is an American comedian, storyteller, actor, and director who has cultivated a career that spans the entertainment world. For more than thirteen years, he has been creating and performing stand-up comedy; writing and appearing in films; acting on television shows; producing and directing both film and stage projects; guesting on numerous talk shows; collaborating with other leading names in the industry including Ira Glass, Joe Mande, Stephnie Weir, Sarah Silverman, John Mulaney, and Judd Apatow; winning awards such as Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show for My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend (2013); touring around countries such as Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and United Kingdom; and much more. After its success in New York City, it toured major cities like London (2013) and Los Angeles (2014) receiving critical acclaim. In addition to this project's success, he created two additional off-Broadway solo performance projects - My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend (2010) and Thank God for Jokes (2016). He also produced his Mike Birbiglia movies including Don't Think Twice (2016), Sleepwalk With Me (2012), and The Fault In Our Stars(2014), among others. Mike has also made several television appearances as well. He landed a recurring role on Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black playing Danny Pearson during its second season. He can also be seen guesting in HBO's Girls—starring Lena Dunham—as well as appearing in Steve Carell’s short-lived series TBS' Angie Tribeca. Additionally, he wrote four episodes of Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer between 2014 - 2017 for which he received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series just last year.
