Michael Carbonaro is a magician, comedian, and actor. He's best known for his appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and his hit television series, The Carbonaro Effect on truTV. Michael has been amazing audiences with his illusions for years, and he's showing no signs of slowing down. He also appeared in some shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He is known for his hidden-camera video clips "Magic Clerk" segments on The Tonight Show, as well as his appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he has performed various magic tricks involving audience members and celebrities. He has also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, Live with Kelly & Ryan, and Steve Harvey. Carbonaro was born in Oak Park, Illinois, and is of Italian descent.  He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at New York University, Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. 

He began his career as an improv artist in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Los Angeles, California, in 1995 to pursue a career in acting. He has since appeared in numerous television shows and films, including Vegas Vacation, The Rock, Grey's Anatomy, Angels in the Outfield, 30 Rock, CSI Miami, and Bruce Almighty. In 2014, Carbonaro began hosting The Carbonaro Effect on truTV. The hidden-camera magic series follows Carbonaro as he performs his brand of magic tricks on unsuspecting people in everyday situations like acting as a coffee shop barista, a store clerk, or a museum curator, and making alien crabs in a science lab. The series has been a rating success for truTV, with the first season averaging 1.8 million viewers per episode. In 2018, Carbonaro was awarded the Academy of Magical Arts' prestigious Milbourne Christopher Award for his work in magic.  

He was also the first magician to be featured in an eponymous special on Comedy Central. Carbonaro's latest live show was launched in 2019. It features both close-up illusions and grand-stage illusions. The Michael Carbonaro tour highlights his unique style of magic and comedic timing, including his signature "Invisible Dog Leash" trick and new illusions from his latest special. The tour has visited over 30 cities around the world and will continue to spread Carbonaro's brand of magic to more audience interaction.
