Jon Lovitz is an American comedian, actor, and singer who rose to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1990. He has since become one of the most recognizable faces in comedy and has made numerous appearances in movies and television shows. Throughout his career, he has released several albums and won awards for his work. Lovitz began his career by performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles. After appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1984, he was hired as a full-time cast member on Saturday Night Live the following year. During his five-year tenure with SNL, Lovitz created some of the show’s most beloved characters including Tommy Flanagan of The Pathological Liar and Master Thespian. His ability to make audiences laugh earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program.
In addition to his acting roles, Lovitz has released two albums - “The Return of Jackie & Judy” (1993) and “A Little Bit Closer” (1995). Both albums featured original songs written by Lovitz as well as covers of classic songs like “What A Wonderful World” and “I Can See Clearly Now”. In 2010, he released an EP titled “I Hate Christmas Parties” which contained five original holiday songs. Lovitz is currently touring the country with his stand-up comedy act which includes jokes about current events, relationships, and everyday life. He recently announced that he will be bringing his act to Las Vegas for a special 2023 residency at The Mirage Hotel & Casino.
