Guylaine Tremblay CM is a Canadian actress from Quebec. She has had an illustrious career in the performing arts, having worked with some of Canada’s most renowned actors and directors. Guylaine began her career in theatre, making her debut in the play ‘Les Belles-Soeurs’ at the age of 15. She went on to appear in numerous productions including ‘La Petite Voleuse’, ‘Les Fous de Bassan’, and ‘Le Père Noël est une Ordure’. In 2007, Guylaine starred in the film Summit Circle which earned her critical acclaim and won her the Prix Jutra for Best Actress at the 10th Jutra Awards. Her performance also earned her a Genie Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Following this success, she appeared in other films such as ‘The Trotsky and ‘The Grand Seduction’. In 2013, she was cast as a lead role in the television series Les Bleus de Ramville for which she earned another Jutra Award nomination for Best Actress.
In recent years, Guylaine has continued to work on stage as well as on-screen with performances in productions such as 'Tous des Oiseaux' (2019) and 'Cirque du Soleil: Quidam' (2018). She has also been featured on television shows such as 'District 31', 'Unité 9', and 'Vikings'. In 2021, she is set to appear alongside Patrick Huard and Paul Doucet in the feature film 'L'homme qui répare les femmes'. Guylaine Tremblay will be returning to theatres across Canada this 2023 with performances of her one-woman show titled "Une femme à part". This show follows Guylaine's journey from childhood to the present day - exploring themes such as femininity and identity through music, dance, comedy sketches, and more! The tour will kick off at Montreal's Théâtre St-Denis before heading out west to Vancouver's Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver before wrapping up its run at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre.
