About WWE Smackdown

WWE SmackDown, also known as Friday Night SmackDown or simply SmackDown, is an American professional wrestling television program produced by WWE. SmackDown is considered to be one of WWE's flagship programs alongside Monday Night Raw and NXT. SmackDown! made its debut on April 29, 1999, as the first weekly broadcast for The WB Television Network (which later became The CW in September 2006). SmackDown! has aired on Syfy in the United Kingdom since January 2010. The show was originally broadcasted from the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey before moving to the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida in August 2001 and then to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California in September 2005. SmackDown! then moved back east to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in December 2009. In October 2010, it was announced that SmackDown would move from its longtime home on Friday nights to Tuesday nights on Syfy. The move to Tuesday nights took place on January 11, 2011. The WWE Smackdown Here Comes The Pain has also been broadcasted from various arenas in other countries such as the United Kingdom, Japan, and Italy. WWE has always had the most interesting and unique athletes with diverse personalities. This includes people such as Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan, Triple H, The USOs, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock.

SmackDown has been broadcast from 163 arenas, 148 cities and towns, six countries (the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Puerto Rico), four U.S. states (New Jersey, Florida, California, and Wisconsin) and one Canadian province (Ontario). The show celebrated its 1000th episode on October 2012. It is currently the second-longest-running weekly episodic cable television show in American television history, only behind WWE's Monday Night Raw. SmackDown! is the flagship show of the SmackDown brand and features stars from that brand such as WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Universal Champion Bray Wyatt, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, United States Champion Samoa Joe, SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, WWE Tag Team Champions The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) and WWE Smackdown Live General Manager Paige. On July 2016, the show debuted on Tuesday nights on USA Network, as a lead-in to the newly created cruiserweight-exclusive show 205 Live. In July 2017, it was announced that SmackDown will move to a live broadcast on Friday nights on Fox, debuting on October 2019. It has been branded as "The B Show" by WWE due to its lower ratings than Raw throughout much of its history. However, in recent years, SmackDown has consistently outperformed Raw in the ratings.

The June 2023 edition of SmackDown commenced with Kayla Braxton's endeavor to interview The Bloodline upon their arrival at the arena. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman completely disregarded Kayla's inquiry about whether Jey Uso would "conform" to Heyman. Instead, Heyman responded with an audible, exasperated sigh, emanating through the microphone. The opening bout of the show featured an exhilarating Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match. Sheamus and Ridge Holland emerged victorious in a fierce battle against The Street Profits, The OC, and The LWO. However, their triumph was short-lived as they were outsmarted by the cunning duo, Pretty Deadly. It has been announced that Pretty Deadly will go head-to-head against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in a highly-anticipated showdown scheduled to take place in two weeks, right in the heart of London. Despite the match being over, Pretty Deadly remained in the ring, basking in their celebration. This caught the attention of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who made their way to the ring. Zayn offered his congratulations but quickly noted that they had actually won five minutes earlier and it was now time for them to make their exit. After a heated exchange between the teams, Sami and Kevin swiftly pursued and drove Pretty Deadly away.
