The Tampa Bay Rowdies are a professional soccer team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Founded in 2008, the Rowdies are one of the oldest teams in the United Soccer League (USL) and have quickly become one of its most successful clubs. The team plays its home games at Al Lang Stadium, which has been its home since 2010 and is widely regarded as one of the best soccer-specific stadiums in North America. Over the years, the Rowdies have developed rivalries with other teams in their conference such as Louisville City FC and Indy Eleven. The Rowdies are led by some of professional soccer's top players such as forward Sebastian Guenzatti who was named First Team All-League last season after scoring 12 goals; midfielder Leo Fernandes who had six assists last year; defender Forrest Lasso who had two goals and three assists; goalkeeper Evan Louro who recorded seven shutouts last season; and defender Aaron Guillen who helped anchor a defense that conceded just 30 goals all year. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Tampa Bay Rowdies will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
