Birmingham Legion FC is an American professional soccer club based in Birmingham, Alabama, that competes in the USL Championship, the second division of American soccer. Founded in 2017, Birmingham Legion FC has quickly become one of the most successful teams in the league and is now a perennial playoff contender. The team plays its home games at BBVA Field, located in downtown Birmingham. Over the years, they have developed rivalries with other teams in their conference such as Charleston Battery and Atlanta United 2. The Legion has been led by some of the best players and coaches in the game since their formation. The club has been involved with numerous community initiatives throughout its time in Birmingham such as partnering with local charities to help those affected by homelessness and hunger.
