Representing the city of Dallas, Texas, the storied American professional indoor soccer team known as The Dallas Sidekicks proudly resides in Allen. The home field of the team is the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. On November 3, 2012, they launched their first season as a member of the renowned Professional Arena Soccer League. On October 25, 2014, the Sidekicks leaped progress and began their journey in the new Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). On September 19, 2017, the team temporarily paused operations for a season to reorganize and come back stronger. On July 24, 2018, the news broke that the Dallas Sidekicks were coming back to thrill crowds once again with their amazing performances during the upcoming 2018-2019 season.
The Sidekicks were the only two Texas teams to rejoin the MASL for 2015-16, proudly representing their state in professional soccer. With losses from Beaumont, Hidalgo, and regional foes Wichita and Tulsa, the entire league's structure was reorganized which ultimately put Dallas in a prestigious Pacific Division of the Western Conference. In June 2015, news broke that the Dallas franchise was experiencing financial issues after longtime head coach Tatu stepped away from the team. In October 2015, Bob Heckel, Sean Porter, and Craig Porter - a trio of nearby entrepreneurs - acquired the team and welcomed Simon Bozas as the brand-new head coach. Rival: Tacoma Stars.
