Franklin Rodeo has been a staple of the Franklin, Tennessee community since its founding in 1953. The rodeo is held annually at Williamson County Ag Expo Park and features some of the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the country competing in events such as bull riding, barrel racing, team roping and steer wrestling. Over the years, Franklin Rodeo has developed rivalries with other rodeos in the region such as Nashville’s Music City Stampede and Chattanooga’s Riverbend Roundup. The rodeo has also earned numerous awards over the years including being ranked as one of the top ten professional rodeos by ProRodeo Magazine for four consecutive years from 2011 to 2014. The current head coach of Franklin Rodeo is Joe Wilson who took over in 2015 after retiring from his long-time role as assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University. Under Coach Wilson's leadership, Franklin Rodeo has become one of the most successful professional rodeos in the country. Some of the top riders on this year's roster include world champion bull rider Cody Teel; five-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier Kaycee Feild; world champion bareback rider Steven Peebles; and world champion team roper Chad Masters.
