NJ/NY Gotham FC (formerly Sky Blue FC) is a professional soccer team based in New Jersey and New York City. Founded in 2007 as Jersey Sky Blue, the club has become one of the most successful teams in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The team plays its home games at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ and their main rivals are the Washington Spirit and North Carolina Courage. Over the years, Sky Blue FC has won numerous awards including two NWSL Shields for having the best regular season record and four NWSL Championships. The team is currently led by head coach Freya Coombe who took over in 2020 after Denise Reddy was fired. Under Coombe’s leadership, Sky Blue FC finished fifth in the 2021 season with a record of 9-6-5.
