The Florida A&M Rattlers football team represents Florida A&M University in the sport of American football. The Rattlers compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). They play their home games at Bragg Memorial Stadium on the university's Tallahassee, Florida campus.
The Rattlers have a rich history of success on the gridiron. The team has won 14 Black College Football National Championships, 26 MEAC Championships, and one I-AA Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. The Rattlers have also produced two Pro Football Hall of Famers: Deion Sanders and Lee Roy Selmon. The program has also achieved success in recent years, winning the MEAC Championship in 2007 and 2010. The Rattlers have also made appearances in the I-AA/FCS Playoffs in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2012.
In 2014, the Rattlers went 9-3 overall and 7-1 in MEAC play to win the conference championship. The team earned a berth in the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl, where they defeated Alcorn State 38-24. The Rattlers enter the 2015 season looking to build on their recent success. The team will be led by head coach Alex Wood, who is entering his second season at the helm. The Rattlers will look to defend their MEAC Championship and make another appearance in the Celebration Bowl.
