The Connecticut Huskies Basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents the University of Connecticut (UConn). The team is a member of the American Athletic Conference, which is part of the NCAA Division I with other schools. UConn proudly played at the Big East Conference in 1979 and was one of seven prestigious founding members. UConn Huskies play the most successful college basketball programs in recent memory, having won four national championships since 1999. UConn has a long and proud history in the game of basketball that stretches back to 1903 when it was known as Storrs Agricultural College and first fielded a team.
