The New Jersey Jackals are a professional baseball team based in Little Falls, New Jersey. Founded in 1998, the Jackals have become one of the premier teams in the Can-Am League, with six division titles and three league championships to their name. The team plays its home games at Yogi Berra Stadium, located on the campus of Montclair State University. Over the years, the Jackals have developed several rivalries with other teams in their conference, including the Sussex County Miners and Ottawa Champions. The team has also won numerous awards throughout its history, including two Player of the Year awards and four Manager of the Year awards. Currently leading the program is head coach Joe Calfapietra who took over in 2020 after Bobby Jones left for another job.
Calfapietra has already made his mark on the program by leading them to a winning record in his first season as head coach and earning Coach of the Year honors from both Can-Am League and American Association (AA). The Jackals are led by some of baseball's top players such as pitcher Ryan Bollinger who was named First Team All-Can-Am last season after throwing for 135 strikeouts; outfielder Scott Kelly who had 20 home runs last season; shortstop Myles Schroder who had a .957 fielding percentage; catcher Eric Grabe who had a .396 batting average; and third baseman Billy Sylvester who hit 11 doubles last year. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, New Jersey Jackals will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
