The Sacramento River Cats are a Minor League Baseball team in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. They were formerly Oakland Athletics' Triple-A affiliate for 15 years before 2015. The River Cats hail from West Sacramento, California, and play their home games at Sutter Health Park--formerly Raley Field through 2019. The River Cats have been the top-drawing and most successful Minor League Baseball team in the country since their inaugural season in 2000. They drew 645,751 fans during their first season and have led all of Minor League Baseball in attendance every year since then. The team has made five playoff appearances (2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009) and won four straight Division titles (2007-2010). The Sac River Cats have also been a top producer of Major League talent. Over 35 players have graduated from the Sac Minor League Baseball to the Major Leagues, including stars such as Barry Zito, Huston Street, Dan Haren, Tim Hudson, and Josh Donaldson. In addition, the Sacramento River Cats baseball team has won 10 PCL Championships and three Conference titles. The River Cats are owned by a local group of investors, led by Art Savage.

After completing a three-game series against the Bees, the River Cats had their home opener against the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Triple-A team affiliated with the San Diego Padres, last April 2023.
