The Midland RockHounds are a Minor League Baseball team that has been playing in the Texas League since 1972. Founded in 1972, the RockHounds play their home games at Security Bank Ballpark located in Midland, Texas. The team has established several rivalries with other teams in their division, including the San Antonio Missions and Corpus Christi Hooks. Over the years, the RockHounds have won multiple awards, including six division championships and four league titles. Heading into the 2024 season, the RockHounds will be led by manager Scott Steinmann who took over for Rodney Linares after he left for a job with the Houston Astros organization. In addition to their successes on the field, the Midland RockHounds are also committed to giving back to their community off it. Each year, they participate in multiple initiatives throughout Midland such as hosting youth baseball clinics and partnering with local organizations to provide food and clothing to those in need.
