The Joliet Slammers have been a part of the city of Joliet since they first hit the field in 2011. With a rich history of success, the Slammers have become one of the most popular teams in their league and a source of pride for their community. The team plays their home games at DuPage Medical Group Field, located just outside downtown Joliet. Over the years, the Slammers have developed rivalries with other teams in their conference, including the Schaumburg Boomers and Normal CornBelters. The team has also won several awards throughout its history, including two Frontier League championships and three All-Star Game appearances. In addition to their on-field success, the Slammers are also known for having an impressive roster of former players who went on to play professionally in Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball, including Ryan O'Rourke and Mark Montgomery. Currently leading the program is head coach Jeff Isom who took over in 2020 after Mike Pinto left for another opportunity.
Isom has already made his mark on the program by leading them to a winning record in his first season as head coach and earning Manager of the Year honors from both Frontier League and Baseball America Magazine (BAM). The Slammers are led by some of baseball's top players such as infielder Tyler Alamo who was named First Team All-Frontier League last season after hitting .285 with 16 home runs; pitcher Jordan Cummings who was named Pitcher of the Year after going 8-3 with a 2.74 ERA; outfielder Daz Cameron who had 20 stolen bases last season; catcher Blake Sabol who had an impressive .988 fielding percentage; and reliever Tyler Fallwell who had eight saves last season. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Joliet Slammers will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
