PRO-AM Gagne-Bergeron is a professional ice hockey team based in Quebec City, Canada. Founded in 1996, the team has become one of the most successful franchises in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team plays its home games at Videotron Centre, located on the downtown campus of Universite Laval. PRO-AM Gagne-Bergeron has developed several rivalries over the years with teams such as Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Rimouski Oceanic, and Shawinigan Cataractes. In addition to these rivals, PRO-AM Gagne-Bergeron has also won numerous awards throughout their history including four President's Cup titles and two Memorial Cups. The team is currently led by head coach Mario Pouliot who took over in 2020 after former coach Andre Tourigny left for Team Canada U20s. Pouliot has already made his mark on the program by leading them to a winning record in his first season as head coach and earning Coach of the Year honors from both QMJHL and Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
The Tigers are led by some of college hockey's top players such as forward Alexis Lafreniere who was named MVP last season after scoring 35 goals and 77 points; defenseman Jakob Pelletier who had 10 goals and 41 points last season; goaltender Tristan Berube who had 2.60 goals against average (GAA) last season; center Peter Abbandonato who had 11 goals and 46 points last season; and winger Xavier Simoneau who had 12 goals and 29 points last season. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, PRO-AM Gagne-Bergeron will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
