About Fargo Force

Representing the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL) stands a formidable team, the Fargo Force. As one of only fifteen Tier I junior hockey teams in their region, they consistently prove to be top contenders. In 2018, the Force proudly claimed their first league championship and was honored to be named USHL Organization of the Year in 2008-09 and 2012-13. In the early months of 2007, Fargo welcomed a USHL team as an anchor tenant for Urban Plains Center while it was under construction. The ownership belonged to Ace Brandt, a local entrepreneur in the area. Dean Blais, a former coach of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey team was selected as the franchise's inaugural head coach and general manager.

After a torrid competition, the options were eventually reduced to Fargo Force, Phantoms, and Fire - each promising to be a remarkable team name. As a reward for submitting the Force name, twelve lucky people were granted an exclusive dinner with head coach Dean Blais and two season tickets each to witness their inaugural season. On average, 3,203 spectators attended the team's home games throughout the season for a total of 96,104 attendees. After his retirement following the 2014–15 season, Marks was succeeded by Cary Eades. A former player and assistant coach for the University of North Dakota, Eades had just concluded a successful campaign with the Sioux Falls Stampede as they won their first Clark Cup Championship in 2015. In 2018, the Fargo hockey team finally attained their first-ever championship title by conquering the Youngstown Phantoms in the Clark Cup Finals. Following the 2018–19 season, Eades opted to step down from his coaching position yet remain as general manager.

Subsequently, associate coach Pierre-Paul Lamoureux was appointed head coach. After Lamoureux left his position in the 2020–21 season, Scott Langer was brought on board to take over. He had spent five years prior with the North American Hockey League's Aberdeen Wings. On the somber day of October 16, 2021, legendary owner Ace Brandt passed away due to cancer. In remembrance and respect for his life and legacy, the league held a moment of silence in honor of him at their next game. Additionally, as a sign of solidarity and love from every player of The Force team, they will don "AB" patches during all remaining games this season. One of their rivals includes Lincoln Stars.
