Located in Binghamton, New York, and housed at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena, the Binghamton Black Bears are a renowned minor professional hockey team that competes in the illustrious Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL). On May 12, 2021, the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) welcomed a new team to its ranks; owned by Andreas Johansson who is also the majority owner of the Watertown Wolves. The team will take to Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York for their inaugural season. Come 2021-22, the team will take over for Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League and proudly represent their new home in Utica, New York. In the summer of 2021, former ECHL player James Henry was first appointed head coach; however, he soon after accepted an assistant coaching position with the Reading Royals. Henry's position was then filled by the prior Danville Dashers and Indianapolis Ice head coach, Rod Davidson. The NHL season is a lengthy journey for teams that make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
