The Omaha Beef have been a part of the indoor football scene since 2003 and have become one of the most successful teams in their conference. Founded in 2003, the team plays its home games at Ralston Arena, located just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Over the years, the Beef have developed several rivalries with other teams in their conference, including Iowa Barnstormers, Sioux Falls Storm, and Wichita Falls Nighthawks. The team has won numerous awards throughout its history, including seven United Conference Championships and three Division Championships. In addition to their success on the field, the team has also had some impressive players over the years who went on to play professionally in either the NFL or CFL. These include former quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr., wide receiver Kenny Bell, defensive back Dejuan Groce, and running back Terrell Newby. Currently leading the program is head coach Cory Ross who took over in 2020 after Joe Moglia left for Coastal Carolina.
Under Ross' leadership, Omaha has already made its mark on the indoor football scene by making it to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons and earning Coach of The Year honors from both the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). On offense, they are led by quarterback Matthew Gdowski who was named MVP last season after throwing for 3,216 yards and 54 touchdowns; wide receiver Donta Moore who had 1,238 receiving yards last season; running back Jestin Kelly who rushed for 837 yards and 18 touchdowns; and tight end Tyler Hoppes who had 590 receiving yards last season. Defensively they are led by linebacker Josh Letuligasenoa who had 68 tackles last year; defensive tackle Chris Perry who recorded four sacks; cornerback Anthony Williams Jr. who had four interceptions; and safety LaMontiez Ivy who had one interception last season. As they look ahead to 2023 events, the Omaha Beef will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence as they strive to bring another championship back to Omaha.
