LA Bowl is an NCAA Football Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) extravaganza held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California wherein the Super Bowl also held its tournaments and Fan different fan fest. The bowl is affiliated with both the Mountain West and Pac-12 conferences. Inaugurated as the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl presented by Stifel, this game has been branded with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel at its helm and Stifel's sponsorship as a foundation. In July 2019, the Mountain West Conference and Pac-12 Conference signed a five-year contract that established tie-ins for their new bowl game. In February 2020, the highly-anticipated game was finally unveiled to the world. The Mountain West champion is paired with the fifth pick from the Pac-12 (or whichever team was available should that conference's victor have been chosen for one of the New Year's Six contests).
Historically, the title holder of the Mountain West Conference was automatically given a spot in Las Vegas Bowl. StadCo LA, LLC are the proud owners and operators of SoFi Stadium's thrilling game. Just three weeks before its anticipated December 30, 2020 bowl game premiere, the event was unfortunately canceled as a result of the ever-looming COVID-19 pandemic. On June 16, 2021, the game underwent a noteworthy renaming and became known as the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl due to an agreement between comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host exclaimed that he believed no other bowl game had been so honorably named after a human being, as far as he was aware.
