The Greenville Swamp Rabbit, formerly known as the Augusta Lynx, is a professional minor hockey team based in Greenville, South Carolina. Founded in 1998, the Swamp Rabbit has grown to become one of the most successful teams in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), winning four President’s Cup titles and making six appearances in the SPHL Finals. Home games take place at The Well, located just outside downtown Greenville. The Well holds up to 7,500 people and provides a unique atmosphere for fans of all ages. One of the team’s rivalries is with the Knoxville Ice Bears, a team from nearby Tennessee who they have battled against since 2004. Other notable rivals include Pensacola Ice Flyers and Mississippi RiverKings.
