About Showtime Boxing

Showtime Championship Boxing is a television boxing program airing on Showtime. The program debuted on Showtime's launch date of August 4, 1986. It was originally produced by Showtimes sister network HBO, and featured many of the same boxing announcers, such as Bob Sheridan and Barry Tompkins. In 2001, Showtime took over production of the program from HBO. The show has been hosted by Brian Kenny since 2009.

Showtime Championship Boxing features fights from the heavyweight division to the "junior" welterweight division. The show has featured many championship fights, as well as non-title bouts and "contender" fights. The show has also aired boxing matches from female fighters.

The program airs live on Showtime, and is also available on Showtime on Demand.

Showtime Championship Boxing also airs on Showtime Extreme, and is occasionally aired on Showtime 2.

Matches shown on Showtime Championship Boxing are typically 12 rounds in length, with the exception of some non-title fights which are only 10 rounds. The show has a live audience, and features commentary from Brian Kenny, Al Bernstein, and Paulie Malignaggi.
