The Winnipeg Sea Bears are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that competes in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Founded in 2021, the Sea Bears have quickly become one of the most successful teams in the league. The team plays its home games at Bell MTS Place and has developed several rivalries with other teams in their conference, including the Toronto Raptors, Ottawa Blackjacks, and Halifax Hurricanes. The Sea Bears are led by some of Canada's top players such as point guard Brady Heslip who was named First Team All-CEBL last season after averaging 14 points per game; forward Dyshawn Pierre who had 17 points per game last season; center Chris Johnson who averaged 8 rebounds per game last season; and guard Olivier Hanlan who had 4 assists per game last season. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Winnipeg Sea Bears will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
