Representing Pennsylvania State University, the Penn State Lady Lions basketball team proudly calls the Bryce Jordan Center homecourt for their home games. In 2013, the Lady Lions achieved a momentous milestone as they became only the twelfth team in NCAA Division I history to secure 850 victories. Penn State has achieved an impressive 8 Big Ten regular season titles and was the proud winner of the first two Big Ten tournaments in 1995 and 1996. Before the Lady Lions began their affiliation with the Big Ten, they were affiliated with the Atlantic 10 conference. Boasting an impressive 25 NCAA tournament appearances--the most of any Big Ten team as of 2014!--the Lady Lions have made their mark in collegiate sports. The Lady Lions reached the pinnacle of college basketball in 2000 when they advanced to the Final Four, only to be thwarted by eventual champions UConn. In 1998, the Lady Lions emerged victorious in their pursuit of the WNIT title after a hard-fought battle against Baylor. By a score of 59–56, they secured victory on the road in Waco, Texas. Four WBCA First Team All-Americans, Suzie McConnell, Susan Robinson, Helen Darling, and Kelly Mazzante are among the most distinguished alumni of Lady Lions.
