The Rockland Boulders are an American independent professional baseball team playing in the Frontier League based in Pomona, Rockland County, New York. Founded in 2011, the Boulders have been part of the Frontier League since their inaugural season and have become a beloved part of the local community. The team plays its home games at Palisades Credit Union Park, located just outside of New York City. Over the years, the Boulders have developed several rivalries with other teams in their league, including Windy City Thunderbolts, Evansville Otters, and Gateway Grizzlies. The Boulders have won numerous awards throughout their history, including two division titles and three championships. The team also boasts an impressive list of former players who went on to play professionally in Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball, including John Lannan and Mike O'Neill. The Boulders are led by some of baseball's top players such as infielder Jared McDonald who was named First Team All-Frontier League last season after hitting .355 with 10 home runs; outfielder Zach Shank who hit .318 with seven home runs; catcher Matt Oberste who had a .982 fielding percentage; pitcher Stephen Perakslis who had a 3.38 ERA; and reliever Tyler Bashlor who had 26 strikeouts last season. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Rockland Boulders will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
