The Syracuse Crunch is a professional ice hockey team, based in Syracuse, New York, and playing in the American Hockey League. Established in 1994 and owned by the Tampa Bay Lightning; the Crunch is five–time East Division Champions (1996, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2019) and has won two Calder Cup championships (2013 & 2017). The Crunch's home games have been held at War Memorial Arena since their inaugural season in 1994-95. The venue holds a total of 6,230 seats; however, fan attendance shot up during the 2018-2019 season when an average of 5,928 fans attended each game. Rivalries with other teams have marked an exciting few decades for the Crunch.
