Howerton was born in Japan, the son of American parents working in the diplomatic service. He was raised in Montgomery, Alabama. His father, Glenn Franklin Howerton II, was a career Foreign Service Officer with the United States Agency for International Development, and his mother, Penelope Anne (née Peck), was a homemaker. He has two sisters, Penelope and Katherine. Howerton attended high school at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1997 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting. Charles Peckham Day is an American actor, writer and producer. He was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Satellite Award in 2011 for his portrayal of Charlie Kelly on the comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–present). Day was born in New York City, and raised in Middletown, Rhode Island. His mother, Mary (née Peckham), is a retired teacher, and his father, Dr. Thomas A. Day, is a retired professor of music history at Salve Regina University's Newport campus. He has two sisters, Leslie and Sarah. Day attended the Pennfield School in Portsmouth and the Portsmouth Abbey School, where he was a member of the school's jazz band. He received his B.F.A. in Drama from the University of Florida in 2001. After graduating from college, Day moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He co-created and co-developed the comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–present), on which he also works as executive producer, co-writer, and occasionally as director, and is most known for his role as Ronald "Mac" McDonald. As a co-creator, co-writer, and executive producer of the comedic series Mythic Quest on Apple TV+ (2020–present), he is also well recognized for his performance as Ian Grimm.
