Tyrus, otherwise known as George Murdoch, is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is best known for his time in Impact Wrestling, formerly Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, where he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. His career in wrestling began in 2005 when he joined the Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW). From there, he continued to make waves in the wrestling industry, joining NWA Pro and eventually making his way to TNA. In 2009, Tyrus made his debut on TNA Impact! as a member of Matt Morgan's entourage. His character quickly gained traction among fans due to his impressive size and intimidating presence. As a result, Tyrus quickly rose up the ranks and was soon competing for championships. In 2012 he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Jeff Hardy at Victory Road. This win made him one of only two African-American men to ever hold this prestigious title.
In addition to wrestling, Tyrus has also had success in other areas of entertainment such as television and film. He has appeared on shows such as "Glee," "The League," and "Burn Notice" as well as films like "Ted 2" and "Dumbbells." He recently appeared on Fox News Channel's late-night show Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld where he discussed current events with host Greg Gutfeld and panelists Andrew Levy and Bill Schulz. Today, Tyrus continues to make waves in entertainment with his new album “2023” set for release later this year. The album features singles such as “Bring It On” which showcases his lyrical dexterity over hard-hitting beats produced by some of the game's best producers, including Jay-Z’s Roc Nation producer CardoGotWings. The album also features collaborations with some of rap’s biggest names including KXNG Crooked, Royce Da 5'9", Tech N9ne, Rittz & more!
