Jenny and the Mexicats, previously known as Pachucos y la Princesa, is a multicultural band composed of English trumpeter and singer Jenny Ball, Mexican lead singer and guitarist Pamela Peralta, Mexican bassist Nico Contreras Sotomayor, and Spanish drummer Diego Villegas Martinez. Based in Madrid, Spain, the band has a musical style that fuses indie rock with flamenco, ska, reggae, and Latin rhythms. The band's debut album Ojo de Culebra was released in 2009, followed by their second album Suenan las Almas in 2012. In 2013, they released an EP called Tijuana No!, which featured the single "Me Voy". The band's third studio album, La Vida es un Ratico, was released in October 2014. The band has toured extensively throughout Europe and Latin America, playing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. They have also supported Muse on their European tour.
