About David Crowder Band

David Wallace Crowder, an American contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and author, has been performing under the stage name Crowder since 2012. He was previously a member of the David Crowder Band until its disbanding in 2012.

In Texarkana, Texas, on November 29, 1971, he was given the name David Wallace Crowder. Crowder's father was a Baptist minister and his mother was a church secretary. As a child, Crowder sang in his church choir. When Crowder was in fourth grade, his family moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas. While attending high school at Nettleton, he served as youth minister at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro from 1989 until 1991.

In the fall of 1991, Crowder enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Baylor in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. While attending Baylor University, Crowder was a member of the student-led worship group, Forgiven and Loved. After graduating from Baylor, Crowder became a youth minister in Austin, Texas.

In 1998, Crowder enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001 with a Master of Divinity degree.

In the fall of 2000, Crowder began working on his first solo album, entitled Can You Hear Us?, which was released in 2002.

In 2003, Crowder co-wrote the song "Here is Our King" with Matt Redman and Passion Conferences. The song was recorded by the David Crowder Band on their album A Collision.

In 2004, Crowder released his second solo album, entitled Neon Steeple. The album's first single, "Shine", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2006, Crowder released his third solo album, entitled Remedy. The album's first single, "Everything Glorious", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2009, Crowder released his fourth solo album, entitled Church Music. The album's first single, "How He Loves", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2012, Crowder released his fifth solo album, entitled Hundred Waters. The album's first single, "I Am", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2014, Crowder released his sixth solo album, entitled Neon Steeple. The album's first single, "Come As You Are", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2016, Crowder released his seventh solo album, entitled American Prodigal. The album's first single, "Run Devil Run", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

In 2017, Crowder released his eighth solo album, entitled I Know a Ghost. The album's first single, "All My Hope", peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.

Crowder has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards and six Dove Awards.
