Amy Lee Grant is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She is known for performing contemporary Christian music and for a successful crossover to pop music in the 1980s and 1990s. She has been referred to as "The Queen of Christian Pop". As of 2009, she had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, won several Grammy Awards, and amassed 45 Top 40 singles, including a record 22 number-ones on Billboard's Christian Songs chart, a tally that continues to grow as of 2020.
She is the only artist in history to have had a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, pop radio, adult contemporary radio and Christian radio simultaneously with her song "Baby Baby". Grant made her breakthrough in secular music during the 1980s with such hits as "Father's Eyes", "Angels", "El Shaddai", and "Baby Baby". During the 1990s, she became one of the most successful contemporary Christian musicians with songs such as "Every Heartbeat" and a cover of Marvin Gaye's "I'll Be Missing You". She achieved mainstream pop success with the soundtrack singles "I Will Remember You" and "The Power of Love" before returning to Christian music in the 2000s with hits such as "In a Little While" and "Gideon".
Grant has been referred to as America's best-selling Contemporary Christian music artist. She has won six Grammy Awards, 25 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and is one of only five female artists to be awarded the Gospel Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.
