Cream was a British rock band that originated in London during 1966. The group consisted of Ginger Baker (drums, percussion), Jack Bruce (bass guitar, vocals, harmonica), and Eric Clapton (lead guitar, vocals). They were known for their instrumental improvisation and extended blues jams.
The band's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), is the world's first platinum-selling double album. The band is widely regarded as the first supergroup. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. They were also included in both Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time," at number 67 and 61 respectively.
The band's debut album, Fresh Cream (1966), is widely regarded as one of the greatest debuts in the history of rock music. The album features the hit single "I Feel Free," which is considered a classic.
