The Gilmour Project is a British rock band formed in 1985 by guitarist, singer, and songwriter David Gilmour. The band has had an illustrious career, releasing their debut album A Momentary Lapse of Reason in 1987 to critical acclaim. Their first single "Learning to Fly" reached the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart, and went on to become one of their most successful songs. Since then, they have gone on to release several more albums such as Division Bell (1994), On an Island (2006), and Rattle That Lock (2015). They have also achieved success with their live performances, playing sold-out shows at venues all over the world. The Gilmour Project has been nominated for numerous awards including three Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song, and two Brit Awards for Best British Group. They have also won several prestigious awards such as the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2009.
